The Sky’s the Limit: Jet2’s Summer Plans Take Off
Jet2, the UK-based tour operator, has issued a major update to its June flight schedule. This comes amidst growing concerns about global jet-fuel supplies, particularly in light of the escalating US–Iran conflict. Despite these worries, Jet2 remains optimistic and confident that summer operations will proceed as planned.
Jet2’s Record-Breaking Weekend
This past weekend saw Jet2 operate a record-breaking flight schedule, with an unprecedented number of passengers taking advantage of the May half-term break. According to Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2, “Given the number of customers who travelled with us over the weekend, it is very clear how much people want to get away and enjoy their well-deserved holidays.”
Preparation for a Busy Summer
The airline has an extensive programme in place for the summer season, with 139 aircraft scheduled to transport passengers from 14 UK airports. These flights will target destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean, Canary Islands, and North Africa. “Everything is geared up and ready for a busy summer,” Heapy stated.
Jet2’s Confidence in Fuel Supply
Jet2’s confidence in its ability to operate smoothly this summer is based on positive updates from its suppliers. These reports indicate increased production and additional imports, helping to stabilize the supply situation despite ongoing global uncertainties. “Our message to holidaymakers is that summer is very much on,” Heapy concluded.
As of May 28, 2026, Jet2 continues to prepare for a busy season with an unwavering commitment to providing quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
