‘he’ll Only Get Better’ – Gerwyn Price Tips Four Rising Stars to Take World Darts Championships by Storm

, fair play to him,” Price added in reference to van Veen. “He’s a fantastic player. As you can see, when he’s playing, the pressure doesn’t faze him. He’s always cool, calm, and composed.”

A Personal Best Season for Gerwyn Price

While Price is tipping these young stars to make their mark, his own performance this season has been impressive. The Welsh star has secured four titles on the ProTour and reached the semi-finals of both the Players Championship finals and the Grand Slam.

“I’m definitely more confident than last year,” Price said. “It was probably one of my worst seasons last year, but this year, I’m starting to find a little bit of form and getting a bit better.”

The Walk-On Track: A New Tune for The Iceman?

In an unexpected move, Price has changed his walk-on song from the iconic “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice to Myles Smith’s “Nice To Meet You.” He says he will likely keep this new tune but is considering a small adjustment to find the right balance. “I’m probably going to stick with it but try to find the right part of the song, try to get the right volume,” Price explained.

“Because it just seems like it’s not the same song that I listen to in the car when you’re walking on to it. But if we get the right balance and the right part of the song, I’m sure there’s some good energy.”

The Road Ahead

The World Championship starts on December 16, with Price set to face Czech thrower Adam Gawlas. As he prepares for his campaign at Ally Pally, the Welsh star remains optimistic about both his own prospects and those of the young stars he has tipped.

“He’s a great player,” Price said in reference to van Veen. “And those sorts of players, in ten or 15 years’ time, are probably going to be around trying to battle off with the likes with Luke Littler.”

The stage is set for an exciting World Championship as both established and emerging talents vie for glory on the world’s biggest darts stage. Stay tuned to see which of these young stars will rise to the occasion.
