Daniela Nardini: From Barrister to Therapist
Post-This Life, Daniela Nardini took on a myriad of roles. She appeared in Waterloo Road as science teacher Esther Fairclough and starred in Love in the 21st Century, Reckless, and New Town. In 2020, she shared that she had taken a step back from acting to battle breast cancer.
Today, Daniela is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in Glasgow. Her journey from This Life to her current profession exemplifies the multifaceted lives of actors who transition beyond their initial roles.
Jack Davenport: A Versatile Actor
Jack Davenport, son of actor Nigel Davenport, played Miles in This Life. His career has seen him in numerous TV shows like Coupling and The Morning Show, as well as major films such as The Talented Mr Ripley and Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Jack also featured in the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise, portraying James Norrington. His recent projects include The Assassin, The Forsytes, and All’s Fair. Jack’s versatility is clear from his diverse list of credits across television and film.
Andrew Lincoln: Breaking into Big Roles
Andrew Lincoln secured his breakthrough role as Egg in This Life. Following the show, he appeared in Love Actually with Keira Knightley, Before I Die, and Afterlife. Andrew is perhaps best known for his long-running role as Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead.
Amita Dhiri: From Legal High-Flyer to Bridgerton Star
Amita Dhiri, who played Milly in This Life, had a first major television role with the series. Post-This Life, she appeared in Judge John Deed and The Bill before landing the role of DC Grace Dasari in 2007.
In 2024, Amita reprised her acting career with a notable appearance as Mrs Khanna in Bridgerton. Her journey from This Life to Bridgerton demonstrates how actors can continue to find success decades after their initial breakthrough roles.
Jason Hughes: Consistent Television Presence
Jason Hughes, who portrayed Warren in This Life, has worked consistently since the show’s run. He appeared in Mine All Mine, Casualty, and Death In Paradise. Jason also had an extended role as Sergeant Ben Jones in Midsomer Murders from 2005 to 2013.

The Rerun and Reunion
To commemorate its 30th anniversary, BBC Four will rerun series one of This Life at 10pm on March 18. Daniela Nardini will introduce the reruns, with both series one and two as well as the +10 year reunion special available on iPlayer from 6am that same day.
