Kelly Brook’s Return to Reality TV
Katie Archer reports that Kelly Brook has reversed her long-standing decision not to participate in the ITV show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! This change of heart comes after entering what she refers to as her “don’t give a damn era,” marking a significant shift in her career trajectory.
Reasons for Changing Her Mind
In an interview with Elizabeth Day’s How to Fail podcast, Brook revealed the underlying reasons behind her decision. She admitted that her previous reluctance was driven by fear and a desire to maintain control over her professional life. “What changed? Really good question,” she stated, reflecting on her earlier stance. “A friend of mine got asked to have a meeting with the producers of I’m A Celebrity, and I said, ‘You have to do it; I love watching it, what an incredible life experience… I was thinking, why can’t I give myself that advice?’
Brook elaborated on her mindset shift: “I realised it was basically out of fear, and I thought, it’s about time that I live my don’t give a damn era.” This change in perspective led to her pursuit of an invitation from the producers, eventually securing a spot in the 2025 cast.
Preparation and Phobias
Brook is well-prepared for her entry into I’m A Celebrity’s gruelling trials. She mentioned that she has been undergoing body lasering and hair removal, along with reducing her caffeine intake as part of her preparation process. Additionally, she shared insights into her phobias: “I’m terrified of everything,” Brook admitted.
As she noted, this fear encompasses a wide range of things including heights, snakes, and even riding the escalator at Leicester Square.
Despite these fears, Brook expressed enthusiasm for facing them during the show. She said, “I’m happy to face my phobias, I think it will be empowering.” This openness aligns with her broader philosophy that it’s time to embrace new experiences without hesitation.
Hope for a Good Experience
Brook is optimistic about her experience in the jungle and has high hopes for the group dynamics. She stated, “I do think that it’s down to the group you’re with; I do hope we have a really good group.” Brook added that she enjoys being hands-on and appreciates the camaraderie that often forms during such shows. “I’m not a lazy person, I love to cook, I love to clean, I love to muck in,” she shared.
With the show set to begin on Sunday, 16 November, viewers can anticipate an entertaining blend of reality and adventure as Brook faces her fears alongside other celebrity participants like Jack Osbourne, Martin Kemp, Lisa Riley, and Alex Scott. As Kelly Brook prepares for this new chapter in her career, fans are eagerly anticipating what promises to be an exciting and memorable journey.
