Gervonta Davis Faces New Allegations of Violence as Jake Paul Fight Nears
In a twist that has overshadowed his upcoming exhibition fight against Jake Paul, boxer Gervonta “Tank” Davis is now facing new allegations of violence in the strip club where he works.
A Latest Inciting Incident at Tootsie’s Cabaret
The latest incident, which occurred on Monday, Oct. 27, saw Davis accused by a woman who works as a VIP cocktail waitress at Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami Gardens. According to the civil lawsuit filed against him, Davis allegedly choked, grabbed, pulled, pushed and hit her in the back of the head.
The attack began around 4:15 a.m., when Davis located the woman inside Tootsie’s in an upstairs VIP lounge. He reportedly forcibly dragged her through a stairway, through the kitchen, and into the back entrance, all the way to the parking garage. The lawsuit claims that during this ordeal, Davis continuously grabbed, choked, pushed, pulled, and struck her in the back of the head.
A History of Alleged Violence
This is not the first time Davis has been involved in such incidents. According to the complaint, the woman and Davis had been intimately involved for five months prior to the attack but had a history of physical assaults. She alleges that Davis physically assaulted and choked her four times before this latest incident.
The lawsuit further claims that on two occasions, Davis threatened in writing to kill the woman.
The woman’s legal representation is Richard C. Wolfe and Jeff Chukwuma.
Training Camp and Upcoming Fight
Despite the ongoing legal challenges, Gervonta “Tank” Davis remains focused on his upcoming exhibition fight against Jake Paul , scheduled for Nov. 14 in Miami. His trainer, Calvin Ford, has described the lawsuit as “nonsense” and said that they are trying to determine its origin.
Ford stated during a press conference, “He’s doing great. Everything’s good. That’s why we’re trying to find out what’s going on.” He added, “We’re just here focusing on the fight.” However, his comments suggest the boxer’s legal troubles could impact his performance and public image.
Background and Legal History
Davis has faced multiple allegations of violence against women in the past. On July 11, he was arrested for a battery charge involving a woman who is the mother of his two children. However, the charges were dropped when the victim and another witness refused to cooperate, according to the State Attorney’s office in Miami.
As Davis prepares for his high-profile match against Jake Paul , his legal troubles could significantly affect his public image and boxing career. The incident at Tootsie’s Cabaret serves as a stark reminder of the personal and professional risks involved in such high-stakes events.
