McCusker explains: “We have a lovely episode. Cheeky and charming, Ben is making himself at home.” Additionally, there are plans for classic Corrie comedy to unfold, especially when Ben crosses paths with David Platt, played by Jack P Shepherd. McCusker expresses his excitement about working with other characters like Steve and Tim, as well as his desire to develop a friendship with Roy.
Working with TV Icon Pauline McGlynn
A major highlight for McCusker is the opportunity to work alongside TV icon Pauline McGlynn as Maggie. While they both were in Straight Outta Shameless, their on-screen interactions are new and exciting for both actors.
“I was over the moon because, even though me and Pauline were in Shameless together, I never did anything with Pauline so she was just another face in the corridor to me,” McCusker said. “Although she is hilarious. She goes, ‘What age are you?’ and I said I was 46. She said, ‘I had you when I was f***ing 12!’

Future Storylines and Challenges Ahead
Much like any actor on a long-running soap opera, McCusker is aware that his character’s journey will not be without its challenges. He anticipates some tougher times ahead but remains optimistic about the storylines coming up for Ben Driscoll.
“I’ve been given certain storylines that are coming up that I can’t talk about,” he said, coyly. “He’s a good dad. He’s got every reason to be stuck between his mum and Eva because he loves them both dearly and there’s nothing worse than being stuck between that.”
