Lily Allen: A Vicious, Vulnerable and Victorious Comeback

British singer-songwriter Lily Allen has announced a series of intimate theatre shows across the UK for March 2026. The tour is part of her celebration following the release of her new album ‘West End Girl’, which was released on October 24, 2025. This marks the first time in seven years that the star will embark on a full-scale tour since the shows supporting her album ‘No Shame’ in 2018-2019.

Allen’s return to touring is particularly significant as she makes headlines for appearing with Olivia Rodrigo at Glastonbury 2022 and making an unexpected performance with Shy FX this summer. Her decision to tour now comes after the release of ‘West End Girl’, which has received widespread acclaim, including from NME who praised it as “a vicious, vulnerable and victorious comeback.”

The Album ‘West End Girl’

Allen’s new album delves into themes of love and loss, with tracks like ‘Relapse’ addressing the pressures to conform, while ‘Nonmonogamummy’ takes on dating in late thirties. The album’s title track ‘West End Girl’, a cathartic journey back to peace following her divorce from Stranger Things actor David Harbour due to his infidelity, is a standout, according to NME.

“Diving into the complexities of love and loss, the rumbling ‘Relapse’ is about living up to the expectations of others, joyfully funky ‘Nonmonogamummy’ tackles dating in your late thirties and the art of people pleasing, before ‘Beg For Me’ has Allen listing exactly what she needs from a relationship,” reads the NME review. “It le into the determined, no-nonsense ‘Let You W/in’ and the smirking clarity of ‘Fruityloop’, which has her quoting her second album ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’. By the end of ‘West End Girl’, it’s clear the relationship in this tale might be over, but Lily Allen’s comeback is just getting started.”

Allen’s Reflections

In an interview with Interview magazine, Allen reflected on her process and mindset behind ‘West End Girl’. “I mean, I wrote this record in ten days in December,” she stated. “And I feel very differently about the whole situation now. We all go through breakups and it’s always fucking brutal. But I don’t think it’s that often that you feel inclined to write about it while you’re in it.” Allen further noted, “That’s what’s fun about this record; it’s viscerally like going through the motions.

At the time, I was really trying to process things and that’s great in terms of the album, but I don’t feel confused or angry now. I don’t need revenge.”

Allen’s tour promises to be a significant event for music fans, marking her return to live performances after a seven-year hiatus. The detailed schedule and the acclaim received by ‘West End Girl’ indicate that this tour is likely to garner significant attention in the UK music scene.
