It’s Always About the Bag: Fendi’s Bash Celebrates Iconic Handbag
Fendi fans stepped out in the oppressive 90-degree heat to celebrate the legacy of the Baguette, an iconic handbag that has been a staple for decades. The event was not just about showing off new designs but also about bringing together fashion enthusiasts and celebrities under one roof.
Blake Lively and Olivia Wilde: A Fashion Bond
At the heart of the bash were two Hollywood stars, Blake Lively and Olivia Wilde, who bonded over their shared love for Fendi’s timeless Baguette. While Lively arrived in a black and indigo denim ensemble that exuded classic sophistication, Wilde was seen in a Grecian-style gown with tiny bows on her shoulders, both clutching their respective Baguettes.
“For me, I associate the first ‘It’ bag with the Baguette,” Getty said. “I’m so glad that they’re doing re-editions. It’s a really cute bag—and you can fit so much into it.”
The actress and filmmaker accessorized her look with a simple beaded Baguette that sparkled when it hit the light, while Lively had opted for a black mirrored Baguette that added a modern twist to her outfit.
New Re-Edition and The Baguette Lab
At Fendi’s Madison Avenue flagship store, guests were treated to a first look at the new Baguette 26424 Re-Edition, which was unveiled in Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Fall 2026 collection. Alongside this new design, The Baguette Lab, a new restoration and refurbishment service dedicated to preserving vintage Baguettes, was also introduced.
“I am a big vintage shopper and I’m constantly scouring for bags,” Getty said. “I love the mix of colors and textures and how they use their sequins.”
The immersive experience offered attendees an opportunity to watch artisans hand-stitch embellished designs, making the process of restoring or refurbishing these iconic bags a unique spectacle.
A Sweltering Night in Manhattan
Despite the sweltering heat, Fendi fans were eager to explore the new Baguettes on display. From Ella Hunt’s long-sleeved black Fendi dress to Deacon Phillippe’s stylish ensemble, the event was a testament to the enduring appeal of this handbag.
The night was not just about showcasing designs but also about fostering a sense of community among fashion enthusiasts who shared a passion for Fendi and its iconic Baguette. It’s clear that no matter how many seasons pass or how many new designs emerge, the Baguette remains an essential part of any fashionista’s collection.
And so, as the night drew to a close, one could only marvel at the enduring legacy of this handbag and the passion it continues to inspire. You might think this is new, but the Baguette has been around for decades and shows no signs of slowing down.
