The Storm is Here: Shrouded Sky’s Patch Notes 1.17.0

Attention Raiders! The skies are shrouding over the game with a new patch that brings a tempest of changes, both in gameplay and content.

New Map Conditions and Enemies

The latest update brings a new hurricane map condition to Shrouded Sky. This weather system forces players to adapt their strategies as powerful gales and hurtling debris create chaos topside. Scouts have also spotted two new ARC enemies in the Rust Belt, adding an extra layer of danger for those who dare venture into these treacherous lands.

Weapon Balancing: A Fine Line Between Skill and Luck

The balance team at Embark Studios has been hard at work fine-tuning the weapons. They’ve addressed the issue where semi-automatic weapons had a “shadow buff,” allowing players to spam-click for better results. Now, weapon input buffering has been adjusted to offer both skill expression and responsiveness.

The Stitcher, Kettle, Venator, Jupiter, and Aphelion are all seeing changes aimed at bringing their performance in line with player expectations.

For the Stitcher, the team reduced its high headshot damage multiplier from 2.5 to 1.75 and increased per-shot dispersion by about 50%, making it bloom faster. The Kettle’s base damage was reduced from 10 to 8.5 to bring its TTK more in line with expectations. The Venator, once a dominant PvP weapon, is getting a reduction in both hehot multiplier and base damage. Meanwhile, the Jupiter sees improvements in magnification and equip time for better PVP performance.

Map Updates and Cosmetic Enhancements

The team has made several map updates to enhance gameplay across different locations. Buried City now has lower chances of rare loot appearing from chimneys during Bird City conditions, while Stella Montis gets adjusted night lighting and improved local lighting at the Seed Vault for better visibility.

Cosmetic options are also being expanded with new facial hair customization and the addition of the Volare Set, The Surgeon Set, and The Devotee Set. These new outfits promise to give players even more ways to personalize their characters as they face the stormy challenges ahead.

General Improvements

The update includes numerous bug fixes for animations, interactions, and audio issues. Players can now reroll Feats three times per day for free, making it easier to find the right combination of abilities. The UI has also been polished with improved pings, clearer error messages, and better matchmaking messaging.

Finally, the game introduces a new Expedition catch-up system to help players keep up with missed skill points from previous runs.

This update marks another step forward in refining Shrouded Sky’s gameplay experience for both veterans and newcomers alike.

You might think this is new, but it’s part of Embark Studios’ ongoing commitment to make your raiding sessions more engaging and fair. So bundle up, grab your gear, and prepare for the storm – the future of Shrouded Sky is here, and it’s looking exciting!
