Just when many in the gaming community thought that the year’s live streams were over, Sony Interactive Entertainment delivered a surprise with its latest State of Play presentation on November 11, 2025. The event, which lasted for 40 minutes, was packed with new announcements and updates from both beloved series and innovative indie creations.
New Games and Remakes
The highlight of the presentation included a new look at Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, a full remake of the classic Square Enix RPG. The gameplay trailer showed off battle scenes, multiple characters, and revealed a February 5, 2026 release date. Another notable title was Inkonbini: One Store, Many Stories, a cozy simulation game where players will run a Japanese corner store or konbini. Set to launch in April, this game promises a unique experience for fans of casual gaming.
Returning Franchises and Indie Creations
The State of Play also featured updates on returning franchises such as Coffee Talk Tokyo, the next installment in Toge Productions’ Coffee Talk franchise. A brief glimpse at some of the patrons of this new coffee shop was coupled with a March 5 release date. For horror fans, two entries in the Brokenlore horror franchise were shown next: Brokenlore Unfollow, set to launch in January, and Brokenlore Ascend, scheduled for Summer 2026.
Action and Racing Games
The event also focused on action and racing games. Fatal Frame: Crimson Butterfly 2 Remake was announced with a March 12 release date, while the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 Power Pack will add more content to the game in December, including a 24-hour race.
A new entry in the Tokyo Xtreme Racer racing series, set for February 26 release, brings excitement after a 20-year absence. Additionally, the latest title from the AI: The Somnium Files series, No Sleep For Kaname Date, will launch on the same day, following its successful debut on other platforms.
Indie and Genre-Defining Titles
The presentation also featured titles that push boundaries in their respective genres. The new gameplay trailer for Octopath Traveler 0 was shown next, featuring HD-2D visuals and flashy battles. It introduces new characters like Herminia, Tytos, and Auguste, as well as a village-building mechanic.
A demo containing the first three hours of the game is also available starting today.
The concluding announcements included the reveal of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, with a second closed beta test scheduled for December 1st. The beta will introduce Ghost Rider and Spider-Man to the playable roster, alongside two new stages, X-Mansion and Savage Land. Finally, Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows was announced, featuring multiple new enemies and areas, set to launch on December 4th.

The final announcement of the event was the reveal of a new PlayStation-branded 27-inch gaming monitor. This monitor features a 240Hz refresh rate and includes a built-in charging mount for DualSense controllers, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
