Festive Lights Revamp Trafford Centre

The iconic Trafford Centre has lit up its festive lights with a new and improved display this year. Shoppers and families are flocking to the centre to witness the transformation, as the centre aims to bring more sparkle and wonder to its guests.

New Addition: Santa’s Sleigh Ride

One of the most notable changes is the appearance of a big red sleigh in The Orient food hall, pulled by nine reindeer. Santa himself can be seen waving from his sleigh, delighting families who have been stopping to take photos and selfies around the display.

Huge Chandeliers and Sparkling Baubles

The old hot air balloon displays in the main malls have given way to seven new chandeliers adorned with dripping baubles and red presents. The largest of these chandeliers, located in the Main Dome by Selfridges, is so impressive that it feels like you can almost touch them as you navigate through the centre.

Exciting Festive Events

While there was no official switch-on event this year, a big free festive event is planned for November 15. The Christmas Parade will take place at The Orient and feature a host of family favourite characters, festive dancers, and singers, with an appearance from Father Christmas himself.

Centre Director’s Statement

Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre, commented on the new lights: “Trafford Centre is now shimmering with festive magic as our spectacular Christmas lights illuminate the centre once again. This year, we’ve refreshed and reimagined our much-loved display to bring even more sparkle and wonder to our guests.” The centre aims to enhance the shopping experience for visitors during the holiday season.

The Trafford Centre is a major retail destination in Manchester, with over 200 stores and attractions. The new Christmas lights and festive events are expected to draw significant foot traffic and boost local economy as shoppers prepare for the holiday season.
