, and somebody else, and then this guy goes, ‘Well, what about George?’ He goes, he’s not a movie star.”

Context from AARP Awards

Clooney’s acceptance speech at the AARP Movies for Grownups Awards also touched on his gratitude for working with Noah Baumbach and Laura Dern. “The script is beautiful,” Clooney said, adding that he was “honored” to be part of such a project. He also expressed his appreciation for reuniting with Laura Dern, whom he previously worked with in “Grizzly II: Revenge.” The actor concluded by saying, “It’s going to be a long, tough couple of years, but we’ll all get through it together.”

Clooney’s former “ER” co-star Noah Wyle presented the award. Clooney returned the favor when Wyle won his best actor award for “The Pitt,” and jokingly suggested that AARP should do a “sexiest man still alive” issue, nominating Noah Wyle as the first guy: “When I grow up, I want to be Noah Wyle.”

The annual AARP Movies for Grownups Awards will premiere on “Great Performances” on PBS on February 22. The full list of winners can be found here.
