Benjamin Hollingsworth Reveals What’s Next for His Virgin River ‘Love Triangle’ in Season 7 (Exclusive)
In a recent interview with PEOPLE By Brianne Tracy, Benjamin Hollingsworth, the actor behind Brady in the popular Netflix series Virgin River, shares insights into what fans can expect from the upcoming seventh season.
Lark’s Departure and Brady’s Quest for Resolution
“There’s a lot to reconcile and figure out this season,” Hollingsworth tells PEOPLE. At the end of season six, his character Brady finds himself in a difficult situation when he discovers that his girlfriend Lark has run off with all his money. “Lark bails and jumps ship, and she’s on the run with his money, so of course Brady has to try and figure this out,” Hollingsworth explains.
Brady’s journey does not stop there; he must also navigate a complex love triangle that involves another character named Brie. “The other big question is what’s going to happen with Brie and Brady,” Hollingsworth says, adding, “Mike also proposed to Brie, so there’s a lot to reconcile and figure out the season between Brie and Brady and Mike and Brie.”
Season 7: A Season-Long Journey of Love and Reconciliation
Hollingsworth believes that fans can expect the seventh installment to be a season-long journey filled with emotional highs and lows. “I think that’s a big question for him, and it’s one that is maybe a little more complex than he thought when he first went out to try and find her,” Hollingsworth says of Brady’s quest.
While the exact resolution of the love triangle remains uncertain, the actor hints at the complexity of the situation. “I won’t say that the love triangle necessarily continues, but I will say that it’s a season-long journey that I think will have its ups and downs,” Hollingsworth adds. This indicates that fans should brace themselves for both happy moments and frustrating ones as the story unfolds.
Virgin River’s Longevity and Future
Netflix renewed Virgin River for an eighth season, making it the longest-running English-language drama series on the platform. “It’s a significant milestone,” Hollingsworth remarks, reflecting on the show’s success. “Not only was the location appealing, but having Kelsey Grammer, Jana Kramer, and Karen Kingsbury all attached made it an easy decision for me,” he shares about his latest project, Karen Kingsbury’s The Christmas Ring, which he filmed right after wrapping Virgin River season seven.
This new role in a different setting offers Hollingsworth a break from the intense drama of Virgin River. “I was saying it’d be nice to go somewhere different with the family,” he recalls, adding, “Then, two days later, we got this offer to shoot in Nashville.” This change not only provides a fresh start but also allows Hollingsworth to explore new creative territory.
The article concludes by noting that while there is no official release date for Virgin River season seven, fans can expect it towards the end of 2025. The seventh installment promises to be a significant milestone in both the show’s and the actor’s careers, as they navigate complex emotional journeys and continued success.
