New Scare for A Place in Sun Presenter
While filming a spin-off property show, A Place in the Sun‘s host Jasmine Harman faced an unexpected ordeal when her husband Jon suffered a heart attack. The incident took place during the May 2025 shoot of ‘Renovation in the Sun’ on location in Spain.
Incident During Filming
The cameraman, who is 45 years old, experienced chest pain and shortness of breath while working with one of the builders. “Mid renovation, this afternoon, when we were with one of the builders, I got sort of pains in my chest and tight chested, achy arms,” Jon said from his hospital bed.
He was immediately rushed to a local hospital in Estepona, where doctors confirmed he had suffered a mild heart attack. “The blood test results suggest that I’ve had a mild heart attack,” added Jon, who was recovering at the time of the episode’s recording on Tuesday night (11 November).
Previous Health Concerns
The incident is not without precedent for the couple; in 2016, Jon’s sister Jo passed away due to sudden arrhythmic death syndrome. This recent scare has once again brought attention to heart health issues within the family.
Jasmine Harman, while feeling fortunate that her husband’s condition was mild, emphasized how such events can profoundly impact one’s perspective on life. “Throughout the last 20 years, I’ve had countless people who have been a catalyst for them in some way,” she stated. “It has made me think about living life to the fullest and making the most of every day.”
Professional Impact
The event highlights the personal risks faced by professionals working on set, particularly those involved in physically demanding roles such as cameramen. While it’s a rare incident, such health scares underscore the importance of vigilance and preparedness.
Harman’s experience serves not only as a reminder to her team but also as an inspiration for viewers who may be facing their own challenges. “Not only from Jonnie’s passing, but we have also lost other family members and other friends as well,” she reflected. “It definitely makes you want to make the best of every day.”
